RifleScopesReviews.com started the way most useful things start out of frustration. Back in 2017, I was trying to find a mid-range scope for a 6.5 Creedmoor build.
I spent weeks reading reviews online and walked away more confused than when I started. So I started writing the reviews I wished I could find.
What We Do
This site exists to give hunters, shooters, and anyone buying a riflescope the honest, field-tested information they need to make a smart decision with their money.
Every review on this site is based on hands-on use. We mount scopes, shoot with them, and hunt with them. Then we tell you what we found, the good and the bad.
We cover everything from $150 budget scopes to $3,000 premium European glass, because not everyone has the same budget, and a great scope is the one that does what you need it to do at a price you can live with.
How We Make Money
Let’s get this out in the open. This site uses affiliate links. When you click a link to a retailer like Amazon, OpticsPlanet, or others and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra.
Affiliate revenue never influences our reviews. We’ve given negative reviews to scopes from companies whose affiliate programs pay well. We’ve recommended budget scopes over expensive ones when the budget option was genuinely better. The day a commission check changes what I write is the day I shut this site down.
I also want to be clear: I buy most of the scopes reviewed on this site myself. When a manufacturer provides a review unit, it’s disclosed in the review. Always.
Who’s Behind This
I’m Jake Harmon, hunter, shooter, and the guy who’d rather spend a Saturday running box tests at the range than doing just about anything else.
You can read my full story on my author page, but the short version is this: 20+ years of hunting, 150+ scopes tested, and a genuine obsession with helping people find the right glass without wasting their money.
It’s one guy with strong opinions, a well-used torque wrench, and a belief that you deserve better information than what most of the internet is giving you.
